Welcome to sunny California!

Yesterday was a very long day! It started at 4 am so I could get ready and be at the airport and hour before my 7:15 flight. Poor Jason had to get up way to early to get me there by 6. We were shocked to see that the airport was PACKED at 6 am on a random Saturday morning! Most of the lines were for Delta and thank goodness I was flying United. We made it through the lines in relative good time. I had a short flight to Chicago where I had a three hour layover. My second flight was running a bit late but we got off the ground to San Francisco by a little after 12. We arrived by 3 California time (6 pm North Carolina time). The neat thing was that because my flight was delayed a bit, Kyria and I actually were walking off our airplanes at about the same time. We met up together on the way to baggage claim, got our bags in fifteen minutes and met the bus to Santa Rosa fifteen minutes later. The ride to Santa Rosa was about two hours, but they flew by! San Francisco is beautiful! We crossed the Golden Gate bridge and rode along the coast line for awhile. Jorjan from the university was there to meet us at Days Inn where we were dropped off and she took us back to the school. We met Jenny from Australia and heard another student had arrived from Korea. Kyria and I settled into our rooms at the dorm and then went to dinner with Jenny at a little Mexican restaurant a couple blocks away. We had fun comparing words with Jenny-she told us she had no idea she would have a hard time communicating since we all speak English! We also learned about the organization that Jenny works with-Righteous Pups of Australia, who train service dogs for autistic children.
We returned to the dorm and Kyria crashed early while I stayed up a bit talking to Jenny and met Holli from Birmingham.
Our task today is to find out how to get to Wal-Mart to do some shopping-a challenge with no car!
