Weather and such

The weather is stunningly beautiful so far. Clear, blue skies and NO HUMIDITY! The mornings and evenings are cool and the afternoons are hot, although it feels MUCH different than hot in North Carolina. There's almost always a cool breeze blowing-it feels like it's 70 degrees although I know it's been in the 80's. Just the type of weather that would give me a good sunburn! Must remember the sunscreen!

Yesterday, (after learning that we couldn't rent a car or take a bus because it was sunday) we took a cab to Target and Trader Joe's to get stocked up on the necessities. Our cab driver, Mel, was wonderful-he gave us to low-down on the area, recommended wineries to visit and didn't charge us for the way out. The shopping trip took awhile since there were three of us and we had to take turns grocery shopping so one of us could watch the carts of stuff we had from Target.

We have the first day of class today! Yahoo! Class starts at 8:30 and we have a welcome dinner today at 5:00. We get to meet the dogs today although don't find out until Wednesday which dog we're paired with. Thursday night will be the first night to bring the dogs back to the dorm with us. There is the sweetest, cutest, goofiest looking lab puppy that already melted my heart when he gave me soulful eyes through the fence. Can't wait to meet him!
