Last night, SOLOMON was thrown into one more completely new situation and he was wonderful. Alex's cousin Allison (who is in fourth grade) found out that Alex was to recieve a service dog and his need to raise awareness and funds. She invited a group of friends to her house, along with Kathy (Alex's mom), Alex, Candace, SOLOMON and I to learn more about paws4people. She also wanted to brainstorm ideas with her group of friends for how to raise money for Alex. So, last night, Candace, SOLOMON and I gave a presentation to a group of 7 fourth graders as well as Allison's parents. Candace talked about paws4people and our mission, SOLOMON and I gave a demo to show the girls all the things a dog could do to help Alex. This was a very interesting situation for SOLOMON. He really had to work hard to focus, because Allison has a 12 year old golden named Bailey who was in the laundry room (SOLOMON did meet Bailey later in the evening), as well as a cat, who was somewhere else in the house. He was also surrounded by 7 adoring kids-and you know how much SOLOMON likes kids!! SOLOMON did an admirable job focusing despite all the distractions. (He was also very wiggly and very excited to get pets from all those girls!). All the girls also got to meet Alex and Kathy. I think the only one in the room more excited than SOLOMON, was Alex! He had the BIGGEST smile on his face and made the most wonderful happy noises I have ever heard (except for last weekend when he had three paws4people dogs at his house). Alex was also in seventh heaven with all the girls, dogs and attention. I have attached the picture above just to prove it!
